The Neogen® Petrifilm® Environmental Listeria Plate is a sample-ready culture medium designed for the detection of Listeria in environmental samples. It contains selective agents, nutrients, a cold-water-soluble gelling agent, and a chromogenic indicator that supports clear and reliable colony identification.

Developed to support plant sanitation monitoring, this plate helps improve environmental testing efficiency by delivering results in just 26 to 30 hours. The presence of indicator organisms such as Listeria innocua suggests conditions may support Listeria monocytogenes, a critical concern in food safety.

The Petrifilm Environmental Listeria Plate detects most environmental Listeria species, including L. monocytogenes, L. innocua, and L. welshimeri. Other species such as L. ivanovii, L. grayi/murrayi, and L. seeligeri may grow but do not form typical colonies.
